Not a lot of love for oldtime in South Florida. But thankfully, the Sun Sentinel’s Ben Crandell has an appreciation of music broad enough to cover everything, in kind and vintage. He included our debut album, A Thousand Ways Down, in the best albums of the year for 2014!!! Here’s what he had to say about it:
“Two voices, a guitar, and assured and eloquent storytelling intertwine beautifully on this raw and timeless slice of Americana, a debut album by two Fort Lauderdale attorneys who spend their days working on death-penalty cases. Among the memorable examples of what Meyer calls ‘front-porch’ music are the lonely ‘Countyline,’ the beautiful, gospel-tinged ‘If I Should Fall’ and the surprisingly tender ‘Drunk and Disorderly.'”
You can flip through the slideshow of albums here. It’s worth it. Our record certainly isn’t the only one in there worth checking out. Meanwhile, we’re working on the next one, and will announce a release date soon.
